The Oasis

The Oasis is our worship based prayer gathering on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 pm in the sanctuary.  However, this is like no Wednesday night prayer meeting you've ever been to!  With no set agenda, members and visitors alike gather to seek the Lord through worship, prayer, the reading of scriptures and ministry to those with special needs and requests.  Come and join us!  You will be blessed.

Share your story:  How has the Lord ministered to you in a special way as a result of your participation at RSVC, The Oasis, or the College of Prayer?  We encourage you to share your experience with us.

THE OASIS JOURNAL

Pastoral Challenge:  Give corporate prayer a priority and seek God together in The Oasis.  The early church devoted themselves to prayer...it has to move beyond "convenient prayer" and there are things He won't do until we're devoted to Him in prayer.  In the Oasis, we pray that we would decrease and God would increase.

Note: These summaries capture how the Lord has moved corporately in The Oasis.  This journal may not list the many ways in which the Lord ministers and speaks personally to those who come.

We praise God for His continued presence and provision in our church. We are excited to see new families coming to join us throughout the summer.
1. Please be praying for the upcoming summer musical - that God would be glorified (and kids would learn parts!)
2. Jerry Greaves has been in the hospital since Sunday for kidney stones. Pray for healing.

What a wonderful time together! Despite a lot of spiritual warfare, we were able to focus on the Father's love for us and be encouraged in our faith. Because of God's love, we have been given new identities as Princes and Princesses of the Almighty King. Our new identity causes a transformation to occur from the inside out. If we are able to realize our new identity in Christ, it affects our thinking, then our behavior will change as well. Once we recognize who we are and who we belong to, then we can begin to walk in the authority of who we are - we are royalty! Whatever spiritual warfare may be occurring, we are able to recognize that nothing can separate us from the love of God! God is still on the throne - and He is our Father!

We enjoyed a good time of prayer tonight - God's
providential love in Christ Jesus is overwhelming! All that we need is found in Him. May we stay focused on Christ as the head of our church.

We praise God for His amazing love - that our sins have been covered and we are now free to rest in our relationship with Him. As we have been rescued so there are others who need to be set free and adopted by the Father.

Praise! A sister's son and daughter prayed to receive Christ recently!
Through many "heavy" burdens being shared tonight, it was evident that there is a lot of spiritual warfare going on throughout the church. Pastor decided to dispense with this evening's bible study in order to spend more time in prayer. We exalted our Father and praised Him for His love and for His nature. We acknowledged that because of His worthiness, He is able to care for all of our needs and issues.
We concluded our evening by praying through the Armor of God, being fit to stand complete in His authority and power!

OUr discussion in Hebrews revealed that Christ is superior to the tabernacle and the old covenant. Because of what Christ has done for us on the cross - we now have immediate access to the Father in prayer and in death! Hallelujah!

Please be praying for the many people that will be traveling and away from our church this Sunday.

As believers, we need to be be diligently following our Lord.  When we become passive, we become targets for the evil one to influence our behavior.

Many praises tonight! it rained today! A brother has gotten a job after being laid off 3 weeks ago - this job pays better!
Also, there were some heavy prayer needs as well. A friend's father brutally murdered his mother. A family is grieving over the loss of their child. A man is need of physical healing - even though it looks like all options have been exhausted.

Josh Corrick will be traveling to Peru on a missions trip this summer. Please pray for protection from the evil one, the direction of the holy spirit, and for the revelation of Jesus Christ.

There were many praises!

A brother's tests for cancer came back negative!
A young man's missions trip is fully paid!  He needed $1800 and received $2400 in only 4 weeks!
A brother in prison has been relocated!
And many many heavy needs...
A young married couple is making bad decisions.
A sister is having retinal eye surgery.
A sister's divorce needs to be finalized - soon.
A brother's mother is dying of cancer in Dallas (he is there with her).

God is working - even though we don't understand everything on this side of heaven - there is one great truth that we can cling to - God is good!
